Halswell Residents' Association
Halswell Residents' Association
The Halswell Residents' Association meets on the last Monday of each month at 7.00 pm in the Halswell hub. 381 Halswell Road
We advocate for local Halswell issues from Alcohol licenses to house affordability. We make submissions to the Community board the City Council and to Environment Canterbury. We also meet several times a year with the local Members of Parliament. We are a group made up of residents in Halswell, who want to advocate for their local community. For example, we gather feedback about community facilities, road safety and crime in the local area, and then approach our local council about solutions.
We have engaged with road naming with new property developments in the area and talking with our MPs about fibre connections to areas in Halswell that don't currently have fibre. We run 'meet the candidate sessions' when there is either a local election or a general election. We post surveys on our facebook page and use that data to support our submissions. you can find us here https://www.facebook.com/HalswellResidents
We are a public meeting so people are most welcome to come along and see what we do feel free to come along to a meeting. Alternatively, please phone our chair person John Bennett 322 9755 and ask any questions or raise a concern you may have.
